Transitional Housing Program – Hope Gardens

Our work with homeless families for more than 25 years has shown that they frequently need time and support beyond a three month stay in our emergency shelter.  Families in crisis need time to overcome the devastation caused by their homelessness and to reverse life-long patterns that impede their self-sufficiency.

In response, Inter-Faith opened Hope Gardens in 1995.

This eight-unit apartment building in Central Montgomery County provides a step between shelter and permanent housing. Hope Gardens has two, three and four bedroom apartments where families can live for up to two years. Families living at Hope Gardens receive comprehensive support services to help ensure their success, including weekly on-site therapeutic counseling, intensive case management, budgeting classes, life skills training and more.  The program is meant to provide families with the tools they need to become successfully independent, thus breaking the cycle of homelessness
