Simple Ways to Help: Thanksgiving Donations

Thanksgiving may seem far away, but at our Food Cupboard in Abington we are well into our preparations! Consider picking up a few of the items below each time you shop. Some donors like to have their kids or grandkids select the items to donate; others like to load up a special cart and drop off a trunk full. Whether you can supply one box of pie crust mix or the entire meal, our families are sure to be grateful for you. We are looking for the following items for fantastic Thanksgiving feasts:

– Boxed potato flakes
– Canned yams
– Cranberry sauce
– Fried onions
– Cream of mushroom soup
– Stuffing
– Chicken broth
– Turkey gravy
– Canned pumpkin
– Pie crust mix in a box
– $20 Giant gift cards (for turkey!)
– Cloth bags

Don’t delay! The earlier donations are in, the earlier our volunteers can begin assembling the meal kits. We will accept donations anytime, but are especially grateful to those arriving by November 1st. Donations can be dropped off at the Food Cupboard, which is located at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2086 Parkview Ave., Abington. For more information about the Cupboard click here.
